An SAS flight crash landed in Denmark last weekend. Early today, another Scandinavian Airline (SAS) flight crash landed in Lithuania. The landing gear for both Q400 aircrafts collapsed on landing.
Due to these incidents with Q400 aircrafts (also known as the Dash 8), many airlines are grounding their Q400 fleet for emergency inspections. SAS cancelled around 100 flights within Europe today.
Other major operators with Q400 aircrafts are All Nippon Network, Air Tahoma, Augsburg Airways, Austrian Arrows, FlyBe, Horizon Air (code sharing with Alaska Air), Japan Air Commuter, Porter Airlines, Sunstate Airlines (QantasLink), Jeju Air, Tassili Airlines and LuxAir, among others.
Now, if you are scheduled to fly short-haul anytime soon, do check your your ticket to see which type of airplane you will be flying with. If it says Q400, check with your airline.
