In line with the company's new travel policy (with cost beneficial measures as the primary goal), we now have to consider staying in short-term rental appartments for business trips longer than 5 days.
For the company, this would mean a lot of money saved.
I have heard a couple of people grumbling about it but, personally, I like the idea.
5 Reasons Why I Like Staying in Short-Term Rentals:
- I like the appeal of a pied-à-terre. Yes, that is how I refer to it whenever I talk to family and friends. It sounds more posh. hehe.
- I actually like the fact that I do not HAVE TO eat out every single day that I am away on business. I like having the choice of self-catering after, say, a week of eating in restaurants.
- Some are like hotel rooms, except that it has a homier feel to it.
- I could actually opt to stay in bigger places without having to explain to the accounting department why I went over the allowed accommodations cost limit.
- #2 will mean money saved for ME.
BUT (yes, there is a but), if I have to stay somewhere where there is absolutely nothing else around, then I would prefer to stay in hotels. Short-term rentals are good (at least, imo) if it is in the metropolis.
