Small toys are one of my staple presents for my kids whenever I return home from abroad. I do try to get what they offer locally but I rarely get the chance to visit local stores. So I often find myself browsing the airport shops for some last-minute shopping for the kids. There are even times when, after landing and shortly before I take a taxi that will take me to my own home, I find myself browsing the airport shop.
Okay, I am digressing but I will really get to the point very soon...
Since I always buy toys, I always check the CPSC site for toy recalls. You know, just in case I brought something home which may cause one of my kids to get ill.
Anyway... I checked today after I read Mattel's massive recall and found a product recall which some of you may find interesting.
Apparently, Toshiba has recalled Notebook Computer Batteries due to fire hazard. Was I NOT surprised when I saw that those rechargeable lithium-ion batteries being recalled contains Sony cells.
If you have a Toshiba, do check your battery's model. The Satellite A100, Satellite A105 and Tecra A7 are the models in question. For the details (model prefix and manufacturing date range), check out this page.
Should your battery be one of those being recalled, you will get a free replacement. Until you get your replacement, make sure that you just use the AC power whenever you use your laptop.
