The New York Times asks, "What should you do if you arrive tired and cranky and find that your room isn’t ready yet?"
I'd probably demand that they offer me a drink (and food, if I am angry) gratis et amore at the hotel lounge or restaurant while I wait for my room to be cleaned. In addition to this, if it's really later than the appointed hour of check-in, I would demand for an upgrade.
What I would NOT do is to make a scene and antagonize the front desk receptionist. Instead, I will be friendly and calm BUT I would make my demand without blinking an eye, as if there is no question as to why they should not do as I requested.
What about YOU? What would you do?
