I recently had more than enough time to spare inside Hong Kong's International Airport. And since I was on my way back, there was no need to while away the time working. Instead, I went around the duty free shops just to look around.
When I saw Watson's (a Chinese Drug Store), I stopped to get some tissues. Imagine my surprise when I saw what came out of the cash register after I gave them US$100. US$94 worth in Dollars... HongKong Dollars!!!
Lesson #1: Keep in mind that NOT all airports give US$ as change.
Lesson #2: If I need tissues, I should just head for the bathroom and get one there.
So... who wants their US Dollars exchange for Hong Kong dollars?

Why would expect to get change in anything other than local currency? The shop isn't a bank/exchange bureau.
I always try to keep a small amount of change in case I have an unexpected cost on the way to the airport or at the airport.
