Along with the current effect of Global Warming, the Celebrity Big Brother show in the UK is currently the controversial talk of the town. Apparently, contestants in this reality TV show have been accused of racism against fellow housemate, Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty.
This incident is just one of the many which proves that we are sooo far away from having a color blind world.
Racism is equally present in the world of Business. Unlike in Big Brother, though, it is often covert and very subtle. It can be done consciously or inadvertently.
We cannot control everyone else's issue about race. However, we can take the initiative to help make one step forward towards a color-blind world. How? Well, we need not start rallying. All we need to do is to keep an open mind whenever we meet people from different cultures. We should try to look beyond stereotypes and just try to understand that people from other cultures may act differently and that no culture is superior.
