British Airways' call on the Transport & General Workers' Union to call off the strike has failed. The union did agree to cancel the first day of the planned three-day cabin crew strike, though.
British Airways has not given up with negotiations but early notice to passengers are still being given so that alternative travel arrangements can still be made.
So, for those who have booked or are planning to book a flight with British Airways (leaving or headed for the UK), note that:
British Airways cabin crew strike is planned on the 30th and the 31st of January, 2007. They also plan to take further action (which obviously will also disrupt flights) on February 5,6 and 7 and February 12,13, and 14.
Note that the following flights will be affected:
- longhaul and shorthail flights from Heathrow
- shorthaul flights into Heathrow
- shorthaul flights to/from Gatwick
- flights to/from Tampa, Bermuda and Barbados to/from Gatwick
If you have booked a flight which is affected by the strike, you can re-book or re-route your flight for a later date or you can ask for a refund of your unused ticket.
