Personally, I think that computers crashing is akin to houses burning. You can try to save them but sometimes, the problem is bigger than you and there is nothing that you can do but watch helplessly as everything that you need in your life or work literally crashes down.
The difference is... with computers, you can make backups so you can restore your computer to an operational state after a crash. Backups also mean that the data you have lost will not be lost forever.
If you don't backup, you risk losing a lot. The most obvious way is to to backup your data using an external drive.
However, for frequent travelers, an offsite storage of your data which you can access whenever and wherever you are would be ideal.
How is that possible? By backing up your data and storing it online.
Try using the services of Data Deposit Box™. Data Deposit Box makes instant online backups whenever your files change. There are no procedures to follow. No Schedules to set. Simply set it and forget it. You'll never have to worry about your backup again.
Whenever you go online, Data Deposit Box automatically updates your backup data. No need to worry about sensitive data as your data is stored in encrypted form.
And guess what... it's affordable. You can backup your data for only $2/GB per month.
Want to try it out before you take the plunge? You can register and try it for free.
Don't forget, though, that online backups aren't infallible. You should still have an external backup, in addition.

Some time back I thought storing all my important files and folders on flash drives, CDs or DVDs is the greatest backup strategy. Now I don’t.
I’ve been hearing a lot about free online backups software that allows users to backup files and folders to remote online servers. I decided to check out and tried a few. Most of them provided free gigs of space to safely store my files and folders and access them any time. But I was miffed by the restrictions they place on the number of downloads you can do and the type of files you can backup.
Recently, I got the answer. IDrive-E perfectly backs up any type of files I want. There is absolutely no cap on the number of downloads or the file type. I can simply select the files, schedule a backup and get a nice sleep. I can view the different versions of the files backed up, choose and restore the particular version I want. The interfaces are good and the overall user experience is good.
