JW Marriott Dubai has joined the ranks of other hotels (its cousins in the US and Canada, included) who have banned smoking from their brand hotels. Although, instead of imposing a complete ban, they have instead increased the number of non-smoking rooms in their hotel's premises.
From 26% at the beginning of the year, JW Marriot Dubai has increased non-smoking rooms to 45%. The newly-appointed non-smoking rooms have been refurbished. All upholstery (including curtains, beds and linens) have been replaced to be in line with the existing non-smoking rooms. None of that "someone smoked in here" smell anymore.
It seems like the trend of non-smoking facilities is rising, even outside the US.
Any smokers out there? What do you think of this new development?
