The company I work for does not issue Corporate credit cards for its employees. Instead of corporate CCs, we can:
- Pay using our personal credit cards. File our expense report after the trip. The amount will then be reimbursed to us around a week after the report has been filed.
- get a cash advance from the Accounting department and settle upon filing the expense report
Personally, I like this arrangement. The use of my personal credit card means that I will benefit from earning extra mileage for using my credit card. And IF, the cost of travel (extended trips) would go beyond my card's limit, I can always just ask for a cash advance. Works to our advantage, imho.
I have heard other business travelers complaining about getting their reimbursement way too late. I hope that you are not one of them.
How does your company handle travel expenses? Do you pay up front and get reimbursed like I do? What is your experience with Corporate sponsored credit cards?
