"A German executive who had earned air miles on work-related Lufthansa flights that would buy more than $11,000 worth of air travel took the matter to court when the employer believed it owned the points.
The judge recently ruled in favor of the company, stating that air miles collected on business trips belonged to the company that paid for the trip."
Yes, the company paid for the ticket but WE, business travellers, are the ones who constantly find ourselves sans family, travelling thousands of miles away, experiencing jetlag and working long hours. So, I definitely think that we deserve the mileage we have accrued.
My two cents.
What do YOU think? Head on to CNNTraveller's debate on the use of work air miles.

I think this is very unfair. The company indeed paid for the ticket, but the least it could do for the employee who has to sacrifice time and effort in making the business trip is to grant the miles earned from the trip as a way of saying thank you. It was the employee who made the trip, after all.
