
"Reducing work load is NOT the same as work-life balance"
This headline which turned up during one of my google searches caught my eye. It made me think, especially after that "are you a workaholic" test result.
I do agree with the above headline. Work-Life Balance is way more than just an issue of one's work load. Work-Life Balance, as defined by this site, means having a measure of control over when, where and how one works, leading one to be able to enjoy an optimal quality of life.
You may have reduced the number of hours you work but if you spend the rest of the time worrying about work, NOT making use of your time off, NOT feeling happy then you have NOT achieved work-life balance.
