If you travel light, chances are, you travel fast. In addition, you are spared the headaches which several travellers with checked-in luggage face.
Case in Point: There is a long line at the check-in counter. Especially now that airports are full of summer travellers, most of these travellers are lugging around suitcases that are needed to be checked in. Those travelling with kids, more often than not, even look like they have brought have their house with them. And you? Well, you are stuck behind all these people.
What to do?
If you only have 1 bag which is within the hand-carried luggage dimension, you can:
- head for the hand-luggage only counter;
- head for the electronic check-in kiosk which is only available for passengers without checked-in luggage;
- even with your economy class ticket, you can go to the first-class or airline club (should you not be a member) desk. Be verrrry nice,friendly and plead your case. Normally, they would allow you to check-in there if you only have a hand-carried luggage.
What about you? Any other tips?

It's important to remember, though, that traveling "light" really means just that.
Too many people think they are traveling light when they truly have bags that should be checked.
