Great news for MAC-toting extended business travellers.
Skype has released version 1.4.0.49, specifically for Intel-based MAC users. They can now join in the VOiP madness and will now be able to "talk to anyone, where, for FREE".
Rather than spend your per-diem on hurried phone calls to your family, you can now talk to them using Skype. With Skype, you can make PC-to-PC phone calls to other Skype users (install Skype on your home PC before you leave!) and/or even make calls to landlines for a nominal fee.
Of course, nothing beats cutting your business trip short and heading for home or scheduling a mini-vacation with your family but, if that is not possible, Skype could at least let you talk to your family while you are away, minus the cost of long-distance phone calls.
