I cannot count anymore the number of times I have found myself stuck at the airport, waiting for my connecting flight. And while waiting, I sometimes find myself in need of a shut eye, peace and quiet so I can work and/or a shower.
Yes, lounges are great but not all lounges have the amenities that we sometimes require. Some lounges can provide all (like the Pier in Hong Kong International Airport) but most can only offer travellers one or the other.
The concept of Yotel is something that I wish for other major airports to copy. The perfect solution for business travellers who are stuck at the airport for long hours and who may need way more than what some lounges are currently offering.
Cabins will be bookable in blocks of four hours enabling delayed and transfer passengers to relax privately in a hotel environment. In addition, passengers leaving on those early morning flights can stay the night before to catch some extras hours sleep in the morning and check in online from the comfort of their rooms safe in the knowledge that they are just a casual stroll for their next morning’s departure. Early arriving passengers may also check-in for a few hours before going to a meeting.

The first Yotel will be opening inside the terminal buildings at Heathrow and Gatwick airports in 2006 and in central London in 2007.
With Yotel, size does NOT matter. For the price they are offering, I'd take this small cabin with all its high-end amenities any day. Would you book it, too?
