First Class passengers of Singapore Airlines gets to feast on Lobster Thermidor or Lamb, washes food down with Dom Perignon from crystal glasses, sleeps wearing Givenchy pajamas on a reclining bed with an inflatable air mattress.
A glimpse of what you can get if you pay 10 times the price of a Coach Class ticket on Singapore Airlines.
However, for obvious reasons, more and more companies have taken to downgrading from first class to business class or, even, from business class to coach. Nothing we can do about that.
Or, is there?!
Well, if you cannot justify first or business class tickets at work and you have been spoiled by the pampering you have previously received then, this is the perfect time to put your Frequent Flyer Membership Status to use WITHOUT having to use your miles (because we all know that mileage is used for personal travel ;-)
How? By getting an upgrade, of course. Most airlines upgrade passengers since they normally overbook coach class.
Frequent Flyer Members have priority when it comes to upgrade. And the higher your status is (in this multi-tiered memberships), the better your chances are of getting that upgrade.
Dress well and be nice to the person checking you in. That helps a lot, too.
If you still didn't get an upgrade and you badly want an upgrade then, you have no choice but to use your miles. Or, pay up.
Or... (more later)
